Hi there, A very common question that my clients usually ask me is, if carbohydrates make them fat? Do you think you are gaining weight because of eating carbohydrates? That is the reason I thought of writing this for you today. First of all, what are carbohydrates? Carbohydrates are the sugars, starches, and dietary fibre found in fruits, grains, vegetables, and milk products Does carbohydrate make you fat? The short answer is No. Eating more calories than you burn makes you fat, whether those calories come from carbohydrates, protein, or fat. Any amount of food/calories you consume over the average amount of calories you burn will be stored as fat. Regardless of the source! I always say this... Imagine the healthiest food on the planet. If you eat too much of that and your calorie intake is more than what it should be, then you will gain fat. Carbohydrates provide the bulk of calories in the diet for most of the world's population. They represent the major energy source for our bodies. To make it simple for you, we can divide carbohydrates into 2 categories! Simple or Complex carbs -Simple carbs are usually low in fibre and high in sugar. -Complex carbs are higher in fibre and lower in sugar and that is the reason why you should be eating them more. Here are some carbohydrates which are great: - Quinoa -Oats -Buckwheat -Bananas -Sweet potatoes -Beetroots -Berries -Full corn rice -Apples -Legumes Include these carbohydrates in your daily food. Just make sure that the total daily calorie intake is suitable for your weight loss journey. Once again, your calorie intake is so crucial when your goal is to burn fat and drop some kilos. You should be in a calorie deficit. But how many calories? I am personally against a quick fix and harsh diets. Therefore you should not really drop your calories dramatically. Aim for 300 up to 500 calories below your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). You can use many online calculators to get your approximate BMR based on your gender, age, height, activity level. So once again! Carbohydrates doesn't make you fat!
Fat doesn't make you fat!
Protein doesn't make you fat!
Fruits doesn't make you fat! Eating too much is what makes you fat! Eating more calories, is forcing your body to gain weight. Get my E-book "START LOSING WEIGHT" for free now!
